Prime Minister arrived with new energy for peace and constitution

Sep 26. Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai arrived from his 10 days Newyork visit on september 26.  Stating that his New York visit was “highly successful”, Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that he returned home with “new energy” to concentrate on successfully completing the ongoing peace and constitution writing process.

Talking to the reporters at the Tribhuvan International Airport upon his return from New York, the PM said he would transform the energy of New York visit to take the peace and constitution writing process to a successful end.

He also claimed that the way he raised the agendas while addressing the 66th session of the UN general assembly was different than what previous prime ministers of Nepal did, adding that he raised some new issues in the assembly.

Addressing the 66th General Assembly of the United Nations, the PM had urged developed nations to increase assistance to the least development countries.

Similarly, he had also said that Nepal would like to play a role of a “bridge” between two big neighbours — India and China.

Nine members of the thirteen-member delegation led by PM Bhattarai returned home on a Qatar Airways flight today morning. Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha and three other members of the delegation are scheduled to return three days later after completing the remaining engagements in New York.

During his brief stopover in Qatar yesterday, PM Bhattarai had addressed a programme organised by the Qatar-based Nepali Embassy and pledged special initiative to resolve all the problems faced by Nepali workers in the middle-east and gulf.

PM Bhattarai had gone to New York on 19 September.

In New York, Bhattarai met UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and a number of heads of foreign delegates including Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He also participated in an interaction with the Nepali community based in US.

He also briefly met US President Barack Obama during a reception hosted by the latter for the foreign heads of states and governments present in New York to attend the UN General Assembly.

Among those accompanying PM Bhattarai to New York were his wife Hisila Yami and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha and senior officials of the Foreign Ministry.

I was looking this website right from the begining. Good starting but, I think it would be discussion oriented on Socialism rather than news .
